Which is better Islamorada or Marathon

Especially from the main road.What is you want to do?Marathon's advantage is it has better access to two of the only decent public beaches here, but hopefully you're not coming for beaches.It has lots of good restaurants and a somewhat small town feel.The two towns are not that far apart.

We used to take 5 kids every year to the keys and they loved it.What's better marathon or islamorada?We used to stay in a timeshare until they started enforcing the only 6 persons rule.While the keys in winter are mostly pretty nice (60's and 70's), they can dip down toward the 40's once in awhile.It has many good restaurants and smaller shops and galleries.

We love riding our bikes in both places, restaurants and hotels in islamorada better though.Marathon is much larger and built up with a home depot and malls, but there are lots of nice neighborhoods off the main road.Marathon is a great island if you're traveling as a couple.Snorkeling is best at the reef which requires a boat trip, and yes you will probably need wetsuits.It's a pretty area, spread out across several islands connected by long bridges.

There are several places offering snorkel trips to the reef, i think the most recommended are deep blue dive center and tildens.Generally, this means that you could travel with generally the same travel style and level of luxury in each place.You will find seagrass on all of the beaches in the keys, but there wasn't that much at sombrero beach.
